What is your goal?

Okay so now that you are here, what is your goal? I will start first. I want to be a nice healthy size. For me I feel I look better when I am at least a size 8. I want to try to keep my boobs and I've always had booty. I want to be tall, toned, and slim like I used to be. I want my six pack again and I also want to get back into running. I have some other goals that I will share later but that's it for now. I will post pics of my old body later. Now it's your turn. Q

It's been a long road

I will try to make this as short as possible without missing anything important. I guess it started when I was young. I was always active. In high school I ran track and started lifting weights with the football team. I could eat and not worry about gaining. I entered the Air Force in 96 and really got into lifting weights more. I was obsessed with keeping my body right especially my stomach. My friend Michelle laughs because I used to say I didn't want to get pregnant and mess up my six pack!!!

I had my first child in 98 and my body snapped back in no time without trying. I left active duty and began working at a gym. I remember being there, working out with just a sports bra on one day. A new client was talking with a trainer and the trainer was asking about their goals, she looked at me and said, I want her stomach. Two years later I had my second child and I was and 8 or a 10 depending on the clothing. I've always had a little booty. In 2001 we got orders to New Mexico. When I got here, I was so depressed that I began to eat for comfort. I put on 20 pounds which wasn't bad. I finally snapped out of it and began to take it off until I found out I was expecting again. I gave birth in 2002. This time the weight didn't come off. I brushed it off because I was nursing at the time.

I stopped nursing in 2003 and went full speed ahead into getting back in shape. I was a size 12 at the time. Nothing I did worked. I was frustrated and just depressed. Thomas worked out with me as well and nothing worked. One day my husband was sharing it with his coworker and it made her remember an article about hypothyroidism. She gave him a copy and he brought it home to me. I felt like a huge weight had been lifted. At first my doctor missed it but after further urging, it was confirmed. I refused traditional meds because of the side effects. Things were going great until my tonsils starting giving me troubles. I had recurrent strep infections and was given steroid injections and pills off and on over the course of almost 2 years. In 2006, I'd had enough and got my tonsils removed.

So there I was at around 240 pounds. I didn't recognize myself at all. Soon after, I found out I had the early stages of kidney disease. Since then I have lost over 40 pounds. It has been slow going but I ready to bust things wide open. My kidneys are fine, I've gotten the steroids out of my system and I have my thyroid under control. Now it is up to me do work on getting the rest of the weight off.

No matter what your goal is, this is the blog for you. If you want to get active, lose weight, tone, or even gain weight in a healthy manner, this is a blog to have your best body. It is not about society's standards but how you feel about yourself. So let's get it cracking!!! Q

First post of my new blog

I started this blog as a way to be accountable and to help others. I have had so many ups and downs and I plan on sharing them on here as well. This is not a short term or quick fix situation. This is about having the best body for the rest of my life, for the rest of your life. I want to be healthy on the inside, I want to recognize the person I see in the mirror, and I want to be around to drive my husband and my kids crazy for a long time. Although I am not promised tomorrow, being healthy is one way for me to make it a little easier.

I want this to be a lot more interactive than my other blog. I plan on posting my eating habits, reviews of work out videos, photos and recipes of the food I am eating along the way, and starting stats and updates of my progress with accompanying pics. If you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask me. I will also have guest poster and will be giving away workout equipment, clothing, videos and magazines. Let's have the best body ever!!! Q
